THE CONNECTICUT GIANTS:
Connecticut
Giants Football, LLC (“CTGiants”) was created in 1997 by head coach Timothy
J. Andrews and assistant coach Leon P. Hunter. The
CTGiants’ mission is to establish and maintain a strong community based
semi-professional football program in Southern Connecticut, and to provide a fun
and affordable venue for local athletes to showcase their talents.
Similarly, the CTGiants actively nurture youth athletic programs through
clinics and recreational events, and in general, work to develop and encourage a
sense of community in Fairfield and New Haven Counties.
The
CTGiants began competing in 1998 as a AAA semi-professional football team in the
Garden State Football League. The
GSFL consisted of sixteen teams from Connecticut, New York, New Jersey and
Pennsylvania. In 2000, the CTGiants joined the Northeast Football
Association (“NEFA”) which consisted of ten teams from Connecticut, New York
and New Jersey. From 2000 through
2002, the CTGiants went 26-4 in NEFA, were the 2000 NEFA Champions with an
unblemished record of 10-0, and were constantly ranked with the nation’s best
semi-pro teams by the United States Football Association.
The
CTGiants joined the United Football League (“UFL”) in 2003.
The UFL boasts a lengthy history with over 15 teams from Connecticut, New
York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland and Virginia. The
CTGiants finished 10-3 in 2005, losing in the UFL Championship Game to the
Virginia Hornets. However, in 2006 the Giants returned to the UFL
Championship Game and won 27-8 against the Baltimore Warriors, completing an
undefeated season with 14 wins.
The
CTGiants have also achieved great success with our community service goals
through our "Giants In The Community" program (“GITC”).
GITC is a separate 501(c)(3) organization, and exists in parallel with the
CTGiants. Through GITC the team has
participated in a host of charitable events, including an annual “Adopt a
Child for Christmas” event with the Bridgeport Housing Authority, and the
annual Thanksgiving food drive for the Pivot Ministries Drug & Alcohol
Rehabilitation Center in Norwalk, Connecticut. The CTGiants and GITC have also
sponsored NFL Punt Pass and Kick competitions in Bridgeport, Red Cross Blood
Drives in Stamford and Milford, and youth football clinics in Ridgefield,
Redding, New Canaan and Milford.
In 2007, the UFL merged with the SFL to create the Eastern Football Alliance (EFA)
which now includes some of the best semi-pro football team on the entire east
coast. Our
goal for 2007 is to capture the EFA championship, continue to grow our presence
in the community through GITC, and continue working toward the establishment of
community based sports clinics and programs for young people.
We hope that you we be a part of our mission and success.
COMMUNITY
SUPPORT/SPONSORSHIP:
The
CTGiants are accepting support from individuals and community organizations.
The team hopes that your organization will help us achieve our objectives
on and off the field, and be part of our effort to present quality
semi-professional football to Fairfield and New Haven County. Sponsorship
of the CTGiants and/or GITC may be tax deductible (our tax I.D. number is
available upon request).
In
return for your support, the CTGiants offer a number of sponsorship vehicles
uniquely designed to provide your business with positive returns.
By supporting the CTGiants, your organization will receive:
·
Advertisement at all home games and
events sponsored by CTGiants;
·
Advertisement in the CTGiants
program;
·
Advertisement on the CTGiants
website;
·
Strong recognition in the community of
your organization's commitment to community service, local athletics, and
helping young people.
The
Giants will play a minimum of 5 home games in 2007 at Milford’s John Law High
School. In the 2006 season, we
enjoyed attendance of 500-1,000 people for each game, and the attendance for
CTGiants home games has grown steadily each year.
In 2005 and 2006, the team either sold or handed out over 500 season
tickets, and we expect to do so again in 2007.
For
the price of admission ($5.00 adults, kids under 12 free), fans are given a
eight page program listing the players and the team sponsors.
CTGiants fans also enjoy the team’s announcer, Gus Montonaro, who has
been with the CTGiants since 1998. Gus
skillfully punctuates the action with announcements from the team and
advertisements from the team’s sponsors.
Most importantly, fans are provided with a fun, friendly, and safe
environment to watch the action and to cheer on some of Connecticut’s best
athletes.
Finally,
the CTGiants website at www.ctgiants.com is a bees nest of internet
activity. During the 2006 season,
the site had over 5,000 hits from fans, players, opposing fans and sponsors
wanting to learn more about the team or to sound off on the CTGiants message
board.
By sponsoring the CTGiants, your organization has
access to all of the above media. Below
are the several Sponsorship Packages offered by the CTGiants.
Of course, these packages can be modified to fit your organization’s
