GIANTS FINISH HOW THEY STARTED
Brooklyn, NY-The
Connecticut Giants conclude their regular season in
grand from with a 48-0 win over the NYC Hustlers. The
win gave the Giants their second consecutive
undefeated regular season.
Quarterback Rich
Snowden and the offense were on target all day
recording 7 touchdowns. Snowden threw a career high 5
touchdown passes connecting with James Wish (18
yards), Raheem Duncan (15 yards), and Naciki Reid (38,
25, and 40 yards). Reid is the first Giant player to
have 3 touchdowns catches in a game since 2000 (Marvin
Perkins vs. Westchester Packers). “I have great
athletes around me,” stated Snowden about his success
this season, “our coaching staff gives us great plays
and we are executing right now”. Snowden, inserted
into the starting lineup after halftime of week 2
against Baltimore has thrown 17 touchdowns and only
two interceptions during the regular season. Fullback
Gary Smith scored two touchdowns on the ground running
behind 6’6” 315 pound defensive tackle Kader Drame as
the lead blocker. Punter Matt Bartolotta got into the
scoring column with two completed passes to Mike
Galish for two point conversations.
The defense continued
with its dominant play recording their 5th
shutout in ten games. The Giants have allowed an
average of 3 points per game (32 total points this
season). The Giants rotate ten different players at
defensive line headlined by Richie LaFontane. This
concept popularized by Jimmy Johnson’s Dallas Cowboys
teams in the 1990’s keeps fresh bodies on the line
against fatigued offensive linemen. Outstanding play
from linebackers like Courtney Sutherland and Gerald
Patrick (team leader in tackles) and secondary players
Jamar Rawles (8 interceptions-led team) and Mike
Galish (1 interception Sunday) has made the Giants
defense one of the toughest in the country.
The Giants start their
playoff run this Saturday at Jonathan Law Stadium in
Milford. All playoff tickets are $7 and will be sold
at the gate.

Fletcher, “ we are putting people in the right places and the right
time just in time for the playoff run”.

teams out of their game plan. Safety Riko Roberts collected his

GIANTS WIN
NUMBER 21
Milford, CT - The Connecticut Giants win their 21st.
consecutive league game defeating their longtime rival New York
Bandits 28-0 at Jonathan Law Stadium.
The Giants used a pass first-run
second game plan against a suspect Bandits secondary. Quarterback
Rich Snowden completed both a 53-yard and 49-yard touchdown pass to
fellow rookie Naciki Reid. Reid, a surprise starter verses the
Bandits collected over 100 yards receiving and his first career
scores in dynamic fashion.
Long-time Giant Craig Dobson, with
his touchdown pass in the third quarter to Raheem Duncan, has now
thrown at least 2 touchdown passes in 12 consecutive seasons as a
Semi-Professional quarterback. Running back DeVon Brown also scored
on a 2 yard run in the third quarter.
The Bandits, who were 5-0 a few
weeks ago had lost 2 games in a row and needed a win verses the
Giants to keep their playoff hopes alive. The Giants defense
however had a different plan. Interceptions from Jamar Rawles and
Leo McTaggart with consistent pressure applied from defenders
Adrian Lena, Mike Galich, and Maurice Edwards allowed the Bandits
to earn only three first downs throughout the game.
The Giants visit the Long Island
Ravens on September 30th at 1pm. The Giants escaped with
a 22-20 victory in Long Island last season.
The
Connecticut Giants/Sterling Houses hosted their 3rd
Annual PEPSI Punt, Pass, and Kick Competition on Saturday
afternoon. All participants were honored at halftime of the
Giants-Bandits game.

Milford, CT - The Connecticut
Giants show their well-balanced team attack in their 50-8 win over
the Long Island Panthers Saturday night at Jonathan Law Stadium.

touchdowns from all parts of the team. Runs from DeVon Brown (12
yards) and PerQuan Moore (1 yard) took care of the ground attack
while QB Rich Snowden found Jason Davis (18 yards), Raheem Duncan
(46 yards) and Diallo Freeman (54 yards) for scores in the air.
Scoring also came from linebacker Gerald Patrick on a fumble
recovery, David Reese on a blocked punt and return, and Jamar
Rawles on a sensational 86-yard kickoff return.
This is the
second game of the season that the Giants have scored 50 or more

“everything went my way today”. Snowden made his best play of the
day at halftime proposing to his long time girlfriend at the
50-yard line in front of the surprised crowd. “This is something
nobody will ever forget,” said Snowden.

battle in Yonkers, New York verses the Westchester Steelers, the

interceptions from Jamar Rawles limited the Steelers to 38 total
offensive yards. Allowing an average of 3 points per game, the
Giants remain the only undefeated team in the Northern Division of
the EFAL.
